The Collegiate Veterans Association was specifically established to help veterans like you transition to college life. Long before Sam Houston State was named a Military Friendly School by G.I. Jobs, the CVA was founded on the principal
that “no warrior is left behind.” However cliché that may sound to you now, a few weeks in the class room, or just trying to get your classes in line might change your tune. Academia is an environment far different than any unit you have ever served in. College
is an environment where each individual is responsible for their own success. CVA is here to ensure that the 21st century's veterans become the next "Greatest Generation".
The Collegiate Veterans Association is an organization built to advocate, unite, inform and empower student veterans all, no matter where you have deployed. Veterans of all branches, family members and supporters of the U.S. armed forces are welcomed. Throughout
the year we participate in a variety of SHSU intercollegiate sporting events. We also participate in other events with fellow Student Veterans of America chapters. If that doesn’t suit you, then just come have a beer.
